KSEEB 2017-Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) comes into existence in the year 1966. The board regulates and supervises the system of secondary education in the state of Karnataka.

The board executes the various activities that include devising a course of study, prescribing syllabus, conducting examinations, granting recognitions to the new schools and providing directions, support and leadership to the educational institutions under this board.

Functions of KSEEB

  • Prescribing of syllabus and textbooks.
  •  To grant the affiliations to the institutes offering the intermediate course.
  • To lay down the regulations for the junior colleges.
  • To prescribe the qualifications for the junior lecturers.
  • To do the academic inspection of junior colleges.
  • To Process the results and issue the certificates.
  • Sanctions of the new colleges.
  • To publish the textbooks.

KSEB Exams

 The Karnataka secondary education examination board conducts the SSLC examination twice a year that is in April and June. Every year in April about 8.50 lakhs and in June 1.50 Lakhs students are appearing in the exams.

Karnataka Board

The board has ventured to conduct the supplementary exams for the failed candidates of the exams in March in June months of every year so that the failed students in March can get a chance to join higher education course in the same academic year from July itself. This process was introduced the first time in India.

KSEEB Result

The Karnataka secondary education examination board conducts the examinations for secondary education in the month of the February/March and the result is declared in the month of June. Number of male candidates: 4.52 lakh

Number of female candidates: 4.03 lakh

Number of repeater candidates: 32,607

Total number of pass candidates: 6.85 lakh

Overall pass percentage: 81.82%

Pass percentage for girls: 86.23%

Pass percentage for boys: 77.85
