BITSAT 2017 | BITS Admission Test Application form (Online)

BITSAT 2017 (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test)  is conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) from 16th t0 30th May 2017 for granting the admission in the various courses in the University. BITS has three campuses situated at Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. Bits has one Campus in Dubai also.

Every year approx 2 lakh candidates apply for the examination to take the admission in 2000 available seats in various programs. Candidates can fill the application available until 10th of March 2017. Candidates have to pay the application fee to apply. The candidates can download their hall tickets from 30th May 2017.

The exam will be conducted from 16th to 30th May 2017 in two slots daily. One slot is in the morning from 9 am-12 pm and second slot from 2 pm-5 pm. Candidates can choose any slot on the basis of availability.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria of BITSAT are the conditions that must be fulfilled to be eligible for applying to BITSAT. All the conditions of BITSAT Eligibility Criteria are explained in detail here. Read these all conditions before applying for the BITSAT Exam.

  • Applicant should pass XII class or equivalent with a recognized board with aggregate 75% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. They also need to secure 60% marks in each subject that are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
  • The applicant should appear or passed in XII class to take the participate in the examination.
  • Top-ranked or Candidate having 1st rank in central board or any state board will be offered admission to the course of his choice irrespective of rank and score in the examination.

Application Form For BITSAT

BITSAT Application forms are closed now. BITSAT application form was available from 29th December 2016 to 10th March 2017. To apply for the BITSAT, candidates have to register themselves after that they have to fill the application form and the last step of applying is to pay the application fees. Exam Pattern

There are 4 sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. The time duration for the exam is 3 hours. Total 150 questions are in the exam and all are objective type. The Exam Pattern 2017 is given below in detail:

Marking: – For each correct answer, candidates will be awarded 3 marks and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. For the unattempted question, there will be no marks given or deducted. If a candidate attempts all 150 questions within the time limit without skipping any question then he/she can attempt the 12 additional questions (Four each from all subjects).

Slot Booking

Slot Booking is the process of selecting/choosing the Date, Time and Center of the exam for which candidate is suitable. The slot booking of the exam was available from 20th March 2017 to 5th April 2017. The Slot Booking 2017 is done on the basis of first come first serve. For slot booking, candidates have to enter the details like Application Number, Gender, Date of Birth, Email ID. After the slot booking, candidates can download the admit card for the exam.

BITSAT Admit Card 2017

After completing the process of slot booking, candidates can download their admit card. The date for downloading the admit card were 15th Aril to 10th May 2017. To download the Admit Card 2017 candidates have to log in to the portal and have to enter the details. Candidates must keep the admit card safe till the completion of admission process.

Exam Center

BITSAT Exam Centers are the exam venues where the online exam will be conducted. Candidates can choose the exam date and exam center according to their convenience through the slot booking. BITSAT has the exam centers across the India and Dubai. In India, the exam will be conducted in 46 cities across India and 1 exam center in Dubai. When choosing the exam center in India, candidates have to choose the three preferred exam centers. While for Dubai candidates there is only one exam center.

BITSAT Mock Test

BITSAT provides the mock test for the applied candidates to give an idea about the actual exam of BITSAT. Candidates can download the file of the BITSAT Mock Test from the BITSAT portal. The mock test will be 30 minutes long as compare to actual one. The test will be divided into four parts that are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English & Logical Reasoning. The test score will be flash on the display after clicking on the final submission button. This test is used for the preparation for the actual exam.

BITSAT Answer Key

BITSAT Answer key contains the all correct answers of the questions that were asked in the Exam. Candidates can download this and can match their answers that they have marked in the exam. With the help of this answer key, candidates can predict their score in the exam. After calculating the predicted score from the answer key, they can know their chances of getting admission in their preferred program and Campus that is BITS Pilani, BITS Goa, and BITS Hyderabad.

The result will be announced by the BITS Pilani. BITSAT Result 2017 will be announced on 1st July 2017 onwards. The result will contain the Admission list and Waiting list. While candidates can check their score from 19th May onwards. BITS will declare the result in Iterations that is Iteration-I, II, III, IV on different dates. Participating Institutes

The participating Institutes of BITSAT are the institutes that offer the admission to qualifying candidates into different programs for undergraduate level.The admissions will be offered on the basis of BITSAT Score. BITSAT 2017 participating institutes are BITS Pilani, BITS Goa, BITS Hyderabad, and BITS Dubai. They will offer the admission to the candidates over 2,000 seats in different programs.

Counselling And Seat Allotment

BITSAT Counselling is the process of offering the admissions to the qualifying candidates into B.Tech/B.E programs to all branches of BITS. BITSAT Counselling will be conducted after the declaration of the result. To participate in the Counselling, candidates have to fill the “Admission Application Form” for first integrated programs along with 12th mark sheet. The Counselling for all three branches of BITS will be conducted simultaneously. Toppers of the Central or state Boards have to apply separately for admission under “Direct Admission to Board Toppers”.


BITSAT Cutoff is the minimum score that candidates have to secure to be eligible for participating in the Counselling. BITS Pilani prepares a merit list of candidates to participate in the Counselling on the basis of BITSAT Cutoff. The Cutoff will be determined by the various factors like Number of Applicants, Number of Seats Available, the difficulty level of the exam etc. The cutoff of BITSAT varies for each program and each campus.
