Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) is a collegiate Public State University which is located in Karnataka, India and it was established by Karnataka Government. The University was named after the only engineer to be awarded a Bharat Ratna, Sir M Visvesvaraya. VTU is one of India’s Largest Universty having 212 affiliated colleges having 4,67,100 undergraduate students and 12,666 postgraduate students. The University has three regional centers in Bangalore, Gulbarga, and Mysore. VTU has also 13 QIP centers and 17 extension centers in its affiliating colleges and institutes offering postgraduate courses.
The university has technical and management fields offering 31 undergraduate and 71 postgraduate courses. The university has around 1800 Ph.D. students. VTU is one of the few Universities in India to have 16 of its affiliated colleges recognized by the World Bank for getting assistance in setting up state-of-the-art laboratories, campus facilities and research centers under the TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme, a government of India initiative) program.

Visvesvaraya Technological University has set a common syllabus across the state in 1998. The university revises its syllabus every four years according to the technology upgrades around the world. In 2012, VTU announced that it would launch a ‘first-of-its-kind’ elective targeting railways and metro technology as part of the civil, electrical and mechanical engineering courses. VTU Results 2018 for All Courses
The University declares the VTU Results in various manners like undergraduate, postgraduate, CBCS, Non-CBCS and Revaluation results. The VTU conducts the exam for all affiliated colleges twice in a year.

The e-learning center was set up in August 2003 at Mysore for meeting the demands of the fast-changing scene. This e-learning center has various activities like EDUSAT based live transmission, Web-based e-learning, E-Vidya Media Streaming Solutions, Courses with 3D Animations, SCORM Content, Innovative Workshops for VTU Research Scholars, Faculty Development Programmes, NMEICT NPTEL Project and other technology-enhanced learning initiatives for the benefit of VTU Students Community and Faculty Members, etc,.
The main objective of the centers are:
- Creating a web-based e-learning facility.
- Collect, process and disseminate content developed by the faculty drawn from both academia and industry.
- Creating EDUSAT satellite-based distance education facility using Ku-band Multimedia Based Data Dissemination System (MBDDS).
- Providing interaction/guidance/feedback tools to learners and act as a facilitator between the experts and the students.
- Explore the possibility of using the EDUSAT network for administrative purposes and other activities of the VTU.
Visvesvaraya Institute of Advanced Technology (VIAT)
Visvesvaraya Institute of Advanced Technology (VIAT) is a research institute which is located in Muddenahalli, Karnataka. The institute is spread over 200 acres of land near Nandi Hills and is expected to cost 600 crores. In the starting years, the institute will focus on the research in embedded technology, software quality, agricultural engineering, and bioengineering. All the departments of the VIAT will function as a ‘discovery-innovation center.’ This institute will offer the graduate and Ph.D. programs in Science.
