The Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) was established on January 1st, 1966 under the “ Maharashtra Secondary Board Act” 1965. The main function of the board is to regulate certain matters related to secondary education in the state of Maharashtra as “Maharashtra State Secondary Education Board”. The act was amended in 1976 the name of the board changes to “Maharashtra Board Of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education”.
Functions Of MSBSHSE
Maharashtra Board Of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is responsible for formation and implementation of rules and regulations according to the guidelines of state and central boards. It is also involved in the implementation of the syllabus, textbooks, and examinations. The board creates the textbooks, conducts the examinations and declares the results. The board conducts the exams twice in a year.

Application Forms And Certificates of MSBSHSE
The Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher SecondaryEducationn releases different application forms and certificates online on their website. The MSBSHSE conducts the HSC and SSC exams in the state of Maharashtra.The board conducts the examinations through its nine divisional boards located at Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur, and Ratnagiri.
The board conducts the exams twice in a year and the students that participate in the examinations are around 14 lakhs for HSC and 17 lakhs for SSC. In supplementary examination around 6 lakhs students expected in both HSC and SSC exam together. There are about 21000 schools and 7000 Higher secondary schools in the state.
MSBSHSE conducts the exams in the month of February or march for both the classes that is 10th and 10+2.The result is declared in the month of may. It takes 40 to 50 days for the evaluation of the answer sheets and announces the MSBSHSE result. Every year more than 30 lakhs students participate in this examination for HSC and SSC conducted by the Maharashtra board of secondary and higher secondary education.
