CAT Selection Procedure
As discussed above that there is no common Counseling for the admission in IIMs or other participating institutes. All the institutes whether IIMs or Non-IIMs releases their own cutoff for the admission. Applicants can check the complete procedure of selection for the IIMs as well as Non-IIMs below.
CAT Selection Procedure For Non-IIM Institutes
- The Non-IIM institutes conduct their separate selection procedure.
- Firstly, candidates have to check the cutoff for institutes as each institute has its own cutoff.
- Candidates have to apply to the institutes which are accepting CAT Score.
- The admission committee will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT score percentile and academic qualification.
- Shortlisted candidates will have to come for the second round.
- The second round of selection includes GD or Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.
- After this final shortlisted candidates will get the admission according to the merit list.
CAT Selection Procedure For IIMs
IIMs follow the below-given steps for the CAT Selection Procedure 2017.
1. Result And Shortlisting
After the declaration of the CAT Result 2017, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of CAT score percentile and cut off for all IIMs. The list of shortlisted candidates will be made available on the websites of individual IIM. EACh IIM will send the call letters to the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisting criteria vary from IIM to IIM.
2. Admission Process
Shortlisted candidates have to appear for the next round of selection procedure. This round of selection may vary according to the institutes. This round includes Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Admission authorities may also include the other factors like the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs for shortlisting the candidates at the different level of admission procedure.
3. Eligibility Verification
If a candidate shortlisted for the admission then he/she have to get verified the following documents:
- Original Degree Certificate
- All Mark Sheets
- Category Certificate (If Applicable)
