Indian Engineering Services known as IES is an exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the recruitment of civil servants that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Indian Government. A combined three stage competitive exam is called as the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) which is conducted for the recruitment of IES 2018.

There are mainly three stages of IES Exam which are Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personality Test. The candidates have to qualify all the three stages to be selected for the IES services. The UPSC has released the IES 2018 notification on 27th September 2018 for the 588 vacancies for different departments under Electrical, Civil, Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunication disciplines. The last date to apply for the ESE 2018 exam was 23rd October 2017. The preliminary exam of IES Exam 2018 will be conducted on 7th January 2018 followed by Mains exam on 1st July 2018. IES 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The IES Eligibility Criteria 2018 are the required conditions that an applicant has to meet in order to be eligible for applying. These requirements are prescribed by the exam conducting authority which is UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). The conditions are related to age limit, educational qualification, passing exam marks, nationality, category etc.

IES Exam Pattern

The IES Exam Pattern includes the total time duration of exam, types of questions, number of questions, number of sections, marking scheme etc. The IES 2018 Exam will be conducted in three phases: Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. As per the IES Exam Pattern 2018, the preliminary exam will consist of two objective type papers of total 500 marks while Mains exam will consist of two conventional type papers of total 600 marks.

IES Exam Cutoff 2018

Union Public Service Commission will declare the IES Cutoff 2018 in three phases: Prelims, Mains and Final Cutoff. The IES 2018 Cutoff will be declared after the declaration of IES Result for each phase. The cutoff is the minimum marks that a candidate has to score in order to qualify the exam.
