GSEB 2017- Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) were formed on May 1st, 1960. This board conducts the state level exams in Gujarat. This board is responsible for the preparation of the syllabus for the GSEB SSC and GSEB HSC and also recommends the textbooks to be thought in the government schools.

The board performs the duties of recognizing of the new school, evaluation of the performance of the school and time to time inspection of the schools that are associated with the board.

  • To demand and take fees prescribed by the regulations.

  • To Prescribe and select the textbooks and supplementary books.
  • To make the conditions for recognizing the higher schools and junior colleges.

The syllabus of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) is designed by the team of expert teachers of all the subjects. The syllabus is modified regularly by the team of experts for the different academic sessions.

The board prepares the syllabus according to the overall growth of the students, present demand and necessity of the student’s growth.


Books of Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board are published by the board after preparation of the syllabus. The books are updated regularly as the syllabus is modified after few sessions. After preparation of syllabus, books are published for the students.

Gujarat Board Admit Card/ Hall Ticket

Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board (GSEB) issues the Hall Tickets or Admit card for secondary and higher secondary examinations. All the admit cards/ hall tickets are issued few days before the examinations. This hall ticket/Admit card is important to sit in the examination.

Students who are not having the hall ticket will not be permitted to sit in the examination hall. The admit card has the information of student’s name, roll number, exam dates, and exam center. Students can download their hall tickets from the official website of the Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board.

GSEB Exams

 The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board of Education has two main examinations, one is Secondary School Certificate (GSEB SSC) for 10th class and second for Higher Secondary Certificate (GSEB HSC) for 11th and 12th class students in Gujarat.

The Board also conducts a talent search program for the students of 8th and 9th class in five subjects every year. The Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board also conduct a state level engineering entrance exam known as  GUJCET.

GSEB Result

The Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board (GSEB) conducts the exams in the month of February or march for both the classes that is 10th and 10+2. The GSEB Result is declared in the month of may. It takes 40 to 50 days for the evaluation of the answer sheets and announces the result. The last year result statistics of the Gujarat secondary and higher secondary board of education is given below:-
