The Graduate Record Examination (GRE Test) is an international level test for the admission to graduate courses in the USA and some other countries. GRE Eligibility Criteria

There is no specific GRE Eligibility Criteria 2017 for aspirants set by conducting authority which is Educational Testing Service (ETS). Hence, candidates applying for the GRE Test need not fulfill any eligibility criteria. However, candidates have to fulfill the GRE 2017 eligibility criteria for individual institutes or Universities for which they are applying. GRE is a postgraduate test so the candidates who have cleared the undergraduate examinations can apply for post graduate and P.hd courses. Candidates can apply for the GRE Test once they meet the GRE eligibility criteria of institutes and Universities that they are applying for.

GRE Registration

GRE Registration 2017 can be done in three ways that are Online, Phone and Mail. The most common way for GRE 2017 Registration is online. The registration process for both formats of GRE that are General Test and Subject Test is similar. To register for GRE, candidates have to create an account on the official website of GRE. This account will be used for future process also like rescheduling of dates, canceling of dates, result etc. Candidates can send their GRE Result to maximum four institutes at the time of registration.

GRE Test Pattern

GRE Test Pattern 2017 is designed by the conducting body that is Educational Testing Service (ETS). GRE Test is conducted in two formats: GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test. GRE General test measures test taker’s verbal, quantitative, critical thinking and analytical writing skills. GRE General test has three sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing.

GRE Subject test evaluates candidate’s expertise in specific fields which are Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology. GRE test is conducted in two modes: Computer-based test and Paper-based test. The GRE test format for both the modes are similar.

GRE Test Dates

GRE Test Dates 2017 is decided by the conducting authority Educational Testing Service (ETS). Candidates have to create an account on the official website of the GRE to check the test dates and for other activities. After creating the account, candidates can check the GRE 2017 test dates as well as test centers. Aspirants can select either a computer-based test or a paper-based test.

Candidates can take the GRE test once in every 21 days up to5 times within the period of 12 months. The test dates of GRE subjects vary from the GRE General test. Aspirants can choose the GRE exam dates and exam center according to their convenience.

GRE Syllabus

GRE Syllabus 2017 is designed by the conducting body of GRE test which is Educational Testing Service (ETS). GRE Test syllabus is available in two formats: GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test. GRE 2017 syllabus is different for both formats. GRE General test measures test taker’s verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills while GRE subject test measures candidate’s expertise in a specific field like Mathematics, Biology, and others.

GRE Result

GRE Scores 2017 will be sent by the conducting authority ETS. ETS will send an email to your registered email ID when the official GRE Score is available. To check the GRE 2017 Score candidates are required to log in to the ETS account that was created at the time of registration. Through this account, candidates can see or can print their score report. GRE General test takers can see their unofficial scores at the end of the exam but it will not include the analytical writing score. GRE General test taker’s score will be sent to the Institutes or Universities within 10-15 days of the exam while GRE Subject test taker’s score will be sent to the Institutes within 5 weeks of the test.
