Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is also known as GATE is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee.
GATE Exam is conducted for the admission to post-graduate (PG) courses in M.Tech /M.E/ M.Arch / Ph.D. It is also used by some Public and Private Sector Undertakings (PSU) for employment process in India. Direct recruitment of Group “A” level posts i.e. Senior Field Officer (SFO Tele), Senior Research Officer (SRO) (Crypto) and SRO (S&T) in Cabinet Secretariat is now being done on the basis of GATE scores.
To participate in GATE 2018, candidates have to fill the online application form which will be available from 1st September onwards. The last date for filling the application form was 5th October. Eligibility Criteria For GATE 2018
To apply for the GATE examination, candidates have to fulfill the GATE Eligibility Criteria. Applicants can see the details for the eligibility and all applicants must meet the all requirement before applying.
- Candidates may be Nationals or from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).
- Final Year students can apply and they have to upload the scanned copy of 3rd-year mark sheet.

GATE Application Form
GATE Application form was available online from the 1st September onwards. The last date for applying GATE was 5th October. GATE 2018 Counselling
There is no common GATE Counselling 2018 for the qualifying candidates for the GATE exam. To get the admission in M.Tech programs through GATE 2018, candidates have to apply for individual Counselling conducted by participating institutes of GATE which are IITs, NITs, GFTIs, IISc Banglore etc. IITs will conduct GATE 2018 Counselling through Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Candidates have to register for the individual IIT for which they want to apply as well as on COAP also. It is mandatory to register in both places.
