Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) Results 2018

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is a state University whose jurisdiction was initially restricted to Indore city. Later, its jurisdiction was extended to seven tribal dominated districts of Indore division namely, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, and Barwani. About University


The DAVV was established in the year 1964 by an Act of Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. In 1988, the University was renamed as ‘Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya’ after the Holkar Maharani ‘Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar’ of the Maratha Empire.

The NAAC has awarded a four-star status to university in 2001 and University has also won the center of excellence award by Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. In the year 2014, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredited the university as an A-grade university.

Gyanvani FM Radio


Gyanvani is an educational FM radio station at 105.6 MHz on the premises of EMRC, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhalaya, Indore in collaboration with IGNOU, New Delhi. This FM Radio was established in June 2006. It is broadcast in several cities of India delivering the educational content.

The programs on Gyaanvani are contributed by the educational institutions, NGOs, government and semi-government organizations, UN agencies, ministries such as Agriculture, Environment, Health, Women and Child Welfare, Science & Technology etc. besides national-level institutions such as NCERT, NIOS, and State Open Universities.

Central Library

The university library was established along with the university in the year 1964. The university library fulfills the needs of the academic community. the library started the Bachelor of Library and Information Science Program from the 1993–94 year, as a part-time course. The goal for this was to train the manpower to manage the libraries of the 21st century. The university library hs over 2,00,000 books including various textbooks, research journals, reference books, magazines etc.

University Cultural Center

The university cultural center or Auditorium was inaugurated on 30th September 2005 by His Excellency Dr. Balram Jakhar, Governor, M.P. The auditorium is available for the use by DAVV members, governments, and statutory bodies, national, regional, international and other recognized institutions. This auditorium is not available for any political or commercial activities. The auditorium has two levels, 1100 seats in Balcony and the main hall.

Information Technology Center

The IT center of the university was established in the year 2000. The motive behind this IT center was to create a campus-wide network by interconnecting various campuses and departments.The first phase was completed in April 2001 in which 18 departments having 524 nodes were networked. The second phase was completed in October 2002, in this phase, 10 more departments were connected and 331 additional nodes were connected. The internet access is provided to all departments using fiber optic backbone & 16 Mbit/s leased line.


Apart from the specialized schools of studies, the university also conducts various research work with the assistance of UGC. For this research work, the university has a separate committee of deans which suggest ways to streamline the entire process of Ph.D. thesis evaluation mechanism. The university has also established a Sodha Peeth on Devi Ahilya to motivate the students to research on regional issues.
